Vigo
Vigo Shore excursions
We offer several Vigo shore excursions. Vigo is the largest industrial city in Galicia, being the second most important fishing port in the world and with an industrial production based on shipyards and shipbuilding as well as the automobile industry. Her story features characters like the pirate Francis Drake, who besieged her on several occasions, and Jules Verne, who found inspiration in the story of Rande and the lost treasures. The inspiration for his book was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Vigo offers the perfect opportunity to also visit other locations nearby, such as Santiago de Compostela or Porto in Portugal, which is only an hour away. Take advantage of your stop in Vigo and explore all the surrounding areas that your cruise ship does not offer.

Private shore excursion Southern Atlantic coast Tuy/Valença
Vigo shore excursion to the southern Atlantic coast of Galicia. Let me show you the southwest coast of Galicia. This tour visits the very interesting Atlantic coast south of Vigo. The same route that pilgrims take as “The Portuguese Camino” from neighbouring Portugal.
Let me show you all the interesting places along this fantastic coast, including a short visit to Portugal.
We go from Vigo to visit Baiona with its fabulous castle and the replica of the caravel La Pinta, as here is where news of the New World first arrived. We will visit and have a coffee at the Parador, a 16th-century castle overlooking the ocean with a view of the Cies Islands.
We’ll drive along the coast, stopping at Oia with its monastery just by the ocean, and do a short walk through the town.
From there we’ll go to La Guardia, the last town of Galicia, right at the border with Portugal, only separated by the Miño river.
We will climb by car to Mount Santa Tecla and visit the Celtic village’s prehistoric remains and stunning views of the coast, including Portugal. We will visit Valença, a walled town bordering Spain.

Pontevedra & Combarro with mussel farm visit
Looking for a good grasp of Galicia, well known for its estuaries (rías) with a combination of scenery, wine, food, history & legends?
Take this Vigo shore excursion and enjoy amazing views, taste Albariño wine, have lunch in a picturesque town and much more!
We’ll start visiting Pontevedra, walk its medieval quarters, considered the most monumental city of Galicia after Santiago and a stage of the spiritual “Camino”. From there, we will continue with a visit to a winery, carefully chosen, where you’ll be able to find out about their production of the world-class Albariño wine, including a tasting. You’ll love it as I do! From there, we’ll take the coastal road leading us to the very picturesque town of Combarro. It is famous for its narrow granite streets and the “horreos” by the sea. We will board a catamaran boat to take us to the mussel farms, while on board, they will serve unlimited mussels and wine: I am sure you’ll enjoy it so much you’ll want a second round of this tour if you could:)

Winery visits private shore excursion
Having worked in a wine cellar and being a wine lover, let me show you the Salnés Valley, where most of the Albariño wineries under the appellation of origin Rías Baixas are located, with its very distinctive wines due to the influence of the Atlantic and their unique canopy growing system of setting the vines known as “parras”.
The tour includes a visit to two wineries of different sizes, from a larger cellar to a smaller one, all belonging to the denomination of origin Rias Baixas. So you’ll be able to see their facilities and talk to the winemakers directly, taste their wines (tasting fees included) listen to their opinions, and hear about the wine-making techniques that make their wines so different.
As part of the tour, we’ll also enjoy lunch (not included) in a typical Galician “Furancho.” Furanchos are private homes in a typical rural environment that serve homemade wine and local food.
As part of the services, I’ll send a photographic memento of your tour for you to have back home!
