Private shore excursion of the Douro Valley from Leixoes
For this Porto shore excursion, we will be waiting for you at the port terminal, in LEIXOES, Porto.
We will leave from there towards the town of VILA REAL. Once there, it is essential to visit the famous MATEUS Palace, baroque in style, with its gardens and its beautiful pond with the marble nymph statue. We will visit its interior as long as there is time availability and our timings allow it. You will be able to see its winery where the famous Mateus Rosé originally came from with the palace on its label.
Next, we will go to the town on the banks of the Duero de PINHAO. There we will embark on a typical RAVELO. These boats were used to transport the Val Do Douro wine barrels to Porto. At lunch time we will enjoy a typical Portuguese meal (included), with local products and wines. At the end of the meal we will head to Peso da Regua, while enjoying the wonderful views of the entire valley, making a photo stops when needed. Once there, we will visit the Quinta da Pacheca Winery with the tasting of its wines. After this visit, we will head back to Porto again, to leave you in port in time for embarking. We will make this tour an unforgettable experience!
